Product Spotlight: Beeswax Wraps

What?

Organic cotton wraps coated in naturally antibacterial beeswax, tree resin and jojoba oil.

Why?

Use them instead of cling film and sandwich bags. They last up to a year!

Where?

Your kitchen and your lunch box!

Beeswax wraps are great for keeping your sandwiches in one piece until lunchtime, but you can also use them for things like storing cheese in the fridge or covering bowls. Top tip: use them to wrap up leftover bread to keep the cut end nice and fresh.

How?

Use as you would for cling film. The warmth of your hands will mould the wrap to the shape of whatever you're wrapping.

You can clean them with just soapy water, then every few months pop them on a sheet of baking paper in the oven at 130°C for no more than a minute to pasteurise them.

Who?

Beebee Wraps is an award-winning company based in Cambridge. The team make their wraps using only organic cotton so that the products contain no pesticides and can be safely put on your compost heap. They work closely with a nearby beekeeper to source local wax, and are just around the corner from the What Plastic team so the finished wraps don’t travel too far either!
